Solimena, Francesco#
b. Canale di Serino near Avellino, Italy, Oct. 4, 1657, d. Barra near Naples, Italy, April 5, 1747, Baroque painter. Lived in Austria from 1723 to 1728 and worked in particular for Prince Eugène of Savoy. Greatly influenced Austrian Baroque painting. Most of his works are found in Italy, some in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
