Bombardier-Rotax GmbH, engine manufacturing company founded in Dresden (Germany) in 1920 (four and two-stroke engines), seat at Gunkirchen (Upper Austria, Lohner-Werke). Since 1970 subsidiary of the Canadian group Bombardier Inc. Main focus on engine production for motor sleighs and boats, off-road vehicles, motorcycles and lightweight airplanes. Turnover in 1997/98: ATS 2.7 bn, approx. 1200 employees; export share: 98%.
