Fleissner, Herbert#
b. Cheb, Czech Republic (then Eger), June 2, 1928, publisher. Studied law in Innsbruck and went to Munich in 1952, where he founded a mail-order business which dealt in books, and a publishing house. By acquiring further publishing houses (Amalthea, Herbig and Langen Mueller), established a group of publishing houses based in Germany and Vienna. In 1984 this group was merged with the book publishers belonging to the Axel Springer Publishing House in Berlin.
