Stanz bei Landeck, Tirol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 1,040 m, pop. 534, area 7.32 km2, situated above the confluence of the Sanna stream and the River Inn, north of Landeck, at the beginning of the Stanz Valley, oldest parish in the valley; birth place of the Baroque master builder J. Prandtauer. - J. Prandtauer House with commemorative centre; late-Gothic parish church (around 1460/70) with Romanesque south tower; ruin of Schrofenstein Castle (documented mention in 1228); the tower is still inhabited.
