Stremayr, Karl von, b. Graz (Styria), Oct. 30, 1823, d. Pottschach (Lower Austria), June 22, 1904, liberal politician. From 1861 member of the Landtag of Styria, 1860-1880 member of the Reichsrat, 1870 and 1871-1880 Education Minister, 1879 President of the Cabinet, 1879/80 Minister of Justice, 1893-1899 President of the Supreme Court of Justice. Executed the Church Reform legislation of 1874.
