Venediger Mountains, the westernmost and most glaciated part of the Hohe Tauern Range, between the Krimmler Tauern Pass (alt. 2,633 m) and the Felber Tauern Pass (alt. 2,481 m), consists of gneiss ("central gneiss" of the mountain core) and crystalline slate of the Tauern slate mantle ( Tauern Window), comprises the Grossvenediger Mountain (alt. 3,674 m), Dreiherrnspitze (alt. 3,499 m), Grosser Geiger (alt. 3,360 m), Hoher Eichham (alt. 3,371 m) mountains, as well as Kratzenberg lake (alt. 2,167 m), Plattach lake (alt. 2,199 m), Seebach lake (alt. 2,083 m), etc. Refuges: Defregger Haus (alt. 2,963 m), Neue Prager Huette (alt. 2,782 m), Bonn-Matreier-Huette (alt. 2,745 m), Badener Huette (alt. 2,608 m), Kuersingerhuette (alt. 2,548 m), etc. The largest glacier is the Obersulzbachkees. The northern part of the Venediger mountains belongs to the Hohe Tauern National Park. In Salzburg, Krimml Waterfalls, in East Tirol, Umbal waterfalls.
