The selection was organized by the Institute for Music History of the University of Graz on the basis of A History of Music in Austria, (Musikgeschichte Oesterreichs) edited by Rudolf Flotzinger and Gernot Gruber (Vienna-Cologne-Weimar 1995).
The examples should introduce the various areas of emphasis step by step. Their order depends on the historical periods and will be maintained for other lists.
